Best time to see the animals?

Looking to spend some time with their furry and feathered friends at Kelsey Creek Farm? You can catch a glimpse of their delightful ponies, goats, sheep, cows, pigs, chickens and rabbits from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., most days of the year. During holidays, they may have different hours for viewing, so be sure to check in advance for any changes. Unfortunately, no feeding the animals here, their animals are all well-fed and many even have unique dietary needs!

A little Kelsey Creek History

Did you know that the farming in the Wilburton region was made possible because the area was logged for timber? The Hewitt and Lea Logging Company mined the area from the 1900s to the 1920s. Later on, Mr. and Mrs. Duey bought the property and cleared the stumps to build a farm. They started delivering milk, cream, and butter from their herd of dairy cows, and even baked bread for their hungry workers. How cool is that? Their barns burned down a couple of times but were always rebuilt promptly! After a few years, the Fishers took over and raised Hereford beef cattle until the area was slowly being developed. Luckily, the City Council agreed with the urban neighbors and bought the property to preserve it as a public park, and that’s how Kelsey Creek Community Park was born! You can visit the park any time of the year, and it has live farm animals, barns, pastures, and many programs for kids and volunteers. Donations are always appreciated!

Parking at Kelsey Creek Farm

Good news, there’s free parking available in the main parking lot. If that’s full, don’t worry, you can also park on the street unless there are signs that specifically say it’s a permit-only area. So, come on down and park your car hassle-free!

Sumer and Fall Programs & Activities

Hey there! Something really neat about Kelsey Creek Farm is that they offer summer and fall camps for kiddos! These camps are perfect for keeping kiddos busy and entertained while they learn about animals during their school breaks. My little one went to one of the summer programs in 2023, and it was their absolute favorite camp of the entire summer. If you’re looking for some fun at the farm, be sure to check out their programs for all ages – from toddlers to adults! If you’re a teen or an adult, they also have volunteer activities that you can join! So don’t wait, head on over to Kelsey Creek Farm and enjoy the farm-life!
