Fisher Creek Park in Snoqualmie: A Kid-Designed Adventure

Can you imagine a playground designed by kids? Yes, you heard it right, and it's absolutely awesome!

Nestled in the heart of Snoqualmie, Fisher Creek Park stands as a testament to what happens when you let young imaginations lead the way. In an inspiring collaboration, the Snoqualmie Parks Board turned to local Girl Scouts, aged 8-12, to help design the playground of their dreams. The outcome? A vibrant, adventure-packed park that officially opened its gates in 2015.

Playground Built for Adventure

Fisher Creek Park is not your ordinary playground. It’s a sprawling canvas of creativity and fun, featuring eight slides that promise adrenaline-pumping rides. Most of these slides are steep and fast, designed for those who love a bit of thrill. But that’s not all. The park boasts two 100-foot-long zip lines that offer a bird’s-eye view of the area, a merry-go-round for timeless fun, a challenging climbing wall, a net dome climber for those who wish to reach new heights, and a plethora of obstacles within the play structure that promise endless entertainment.

Beyond the playground, Fisher Creek Park caters to a variety of interests. There’s a full-sized basketball court for the sports enthusiasts, a grassy lawn perfect for picnics and relaxation, a BMX park designed for dirt trail aficionados, and a .75-mile trail that connects to the broader Snoqualmie Ridge Trail system, offering scenic walks and bike rides.

Perfect Pit Stop After a Day Outdoors

Located conveniently for those visiting Snoqualmie Falls or exploring the nearby mountains, Fisher Creek Park serves as the perfect culmination to a day filled with hiking, snow activities, or simply soaking in the natural beauty of the area. With free parking available in the lot near the playground, it’s hassle-free to plan a stop and let the kids (and adults!) unleash their energy.

Unique Touches

In a nod to the local NFL team, the playground sports the Seattle Seahawks’ vibrant blue and green colors, adding to the lively atmosphere of the park. However, with only four picnic tables available, visitors are encouraged to bring a chair or blanket to ensure a comfortable spot. Do keep in mind, the park offers little shade or protection from the elements, so planning accordingly is key.

Tips for Your Visit

BMX Park: Just a short ride from the main playground, the BMX park is a haven for kids and toddlers to bring their bikes and explore the dirt trails.

Seahawks Spirit: The playground’s colors pay homage to the Seattle Seahawks, making it a special spot for fans.

Picnicking: With limited picnic tables, bringing your own chair or blanket is advisable.

Weather Preparedness: With minimal shade or rain cover, dressing appropriately for the weather will enhance your enjoyment.

Fisher Creek Park in Snoqualmie is more than just a playground; it’s a community treasure that was imagined by children and brought to life for everyone to enjoy. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this park promises a unique adventure that’s worth exploring.
