Juanita Bay Park

Location

2201 Market St, Kirkland, WA 98033

Description

Welcome to Juanita Bay Park! This 110-acre wildlife habitat features a 0.9-mile out and back trail that’s perfect for a gentle stroll with your furry friends and little ones. The trail is heavily trafficked, taking you over a beautiful boardwalk that showcases the natural beauty of the wetlands. Keep your eyes peeled for all sorts of wildlife – from tiny songbirds to beavers, and everything in between!

Did you know Juanita Bay Park is a Green Kirkland Partnership restoration area? Bear in mind that their restroom building is usually open from March through October, with portable toilets available the rest of the year.

While the surrounding waters are a protected wildlife habitat, there’s plenty to see on the trail. Please note that entering the Juanita Bay wildlife habitat area (by boat, raft, floatation device, or swimming) is not permitted, these are protected areas for the wildlife. Keep an eye out for warning signs posted on buoys marking the boundaries of the habitat area.

The best time of day to go is before noon, when most wildlife will be out and about. Wildlife spotted: bald eagle, great blue heron, swans, painted turtles, ducks, coots, and various songbirds.

We hope you enjoy your visit at Juanita Bay Park!

Note: Juanita Bay Park does not have a playground for kids, and this is not connected to Juanita Beach Park – plan to drive or walk along the road for a bit if you want to check out that park and playground at Juanita Beach Park, only a few minutes away..
