Have fun on the real life Chutes and Ladders that are equally entertaining (and tiring) for both kids and adults! You’ll find six slides at the Dune Peninsula at Point Defiance Park in Tacoma – with each staircase, catch your breath and enjoy the scenery.

The slides are at the end of the new Wilson Way Bridge, that connects Ruston Way to Point Defiance.  Watch the ferry dock and take off from this amazing vantage point.

Note to self

  • Slides can be fast.
  • On hot sunny days, the metal slides are very hot. Bring a blanket or towel to slide on!
  • Stroller friendly bridge to the slides from Ruston Way or Point Defiance.
  • Visit the duck pond which is at the entrance to Point Defiance, with picnic tables, a footbridge and waterfall. About a 10 minute walk from the Stairs and Slides.
  • Visit the free Japanese Garden and Pagoda or Rose Garden near by.
  • Point Defiance Park is connected to Point Ruston by a footbridge. Cross the footbridge and enjoy other family friendly activities on the waterfront (~1 mile from the Duck Pond)
