Our Family Adventure to Meet Jakob Two Trees

We recently ventured out to Issaquah to meet the legendary Jakob Two Trees, and it was an experience we won’t soon forget! Our journey began at the dog park just past the Issaquah Community Center. With ample parking available, we were quickly on our way, taking a short walk down the Rainier Trail in anticipation of our encounter with the troll.

The trail itself is beautifully paved, making it perfect for families who want to bring along bikes or scooters—a tip we’re glad to share for those planning a visit. The path wound through the serene forest, each step building our excitement until we finally came face to face with Jakob.

Standing before Jakob Two Trees, we were in awe of the incredible attention to detail Thomas Dambo and his team poured into this sculpture. From the thoughtful expression on Jakob’s face to the intricate textures of his wooden skin, every aspect of this giant was crafted with love and care. And yes, Jakob even has toenails! It’s these delightful details that truly bring the troll to life, sparking the imagination of both kids and adults alike.
