Fun fact about Surrey Downs Park, it used to be an Elementary School: did you know that it opened in 1962 and provided services until it closed in 1981? However, the buildings were still utilized and the space eventually became home to day care services and King County Courts. The property was once owned by the county spanning 10.5 acres, until Bellevue took over in 2005. After adopting a master plan in 2015, construction began and by 2018, Surrey Downs Park was born! It’s definitely worth a visit. Have fun exploring!
