2300 Arboretum Dr E, Seattle, WA 98112Â
The Washington Park Arboretum along the shores of Lake Washington is 230 acres of ready to explore nature. Stroll through the park to discover an assortment of plants (some unique to the Northwest), take a walk along the lake and continue toward the over-water walkway to enjoy more water views. Stop at the Graham Visitors Center for maps, restrooms, and a gift shop.
Continue your exploration of the park with a stop at the Japanese Garden at the south end of the Arboretum.
Check out their Maps and Trails here.
Plenty of free parking and space for people to spread out while exploring the grounds. However, on busy weekends, parking lots can fill up quickly.
We thought this was pretty nice, there are separate pathways for walking and for bikes. The paved walking trails are very accessible for strollers, but there are a few stairs. We will be back when the kids are older to try out the biking trails.
The Seattle Japanese Garden is located within the arboretum (there is an entrance fee). The Japanese garden is always a nice visit, we love “forest bathe” here in both of these locations.
