Green Lake Park

Green Lake Park Walk out on the lake deck

Location

7201 East Green Lake Dr N, Seattle, WA 98115

Description

Green Lake Park is one of Seattle’s gems. In the middle of the city, this park is THE spot for everyone! Grab a coffee and go for a casual walk. Let the kids bike and scooter around the trail. Stop at the playground. Bring your picnic basket and some outdoor games (even your hammock). Rent a paddle board or pedal boat for some water adventures with the family. In the summer, enjoy the popular wading pool. The 2.8-mile path around the lake provides a perfect recreational spot for runners, walkers, and stroller pushers.

Nice sunny days draw thousands of people daily from all over the city so get there early (or be prepared to hunt for parking).

Note to self

  • Leashed dogs allowed.
  • Parking can be a problem during the warmer months. Street parking also available around the neighborhood (we found parking near Starbucks).
  • The path (approximately 3-mile loop) around the lake is divided with one side for walkers/joggers and the other for bikers/skaters.
  • Watch out for goose poop smeared on the ground.
  • There is a little wading pool in the summer! Find out more about wading pools in Seattle here.
  • At the main entrance of the park, there are restrooms and a place where you can rent kayaks, boats, and water bikes.
