Description
Set against spectacular views of Lake Washington, Luther Burbank Park provides family fun for everyone. This 77-acre park features three-quarters of a mile of waterfront for swimming, boating, and fishing. The playground is packed with fun for all ages featuring a zip line, slides, climbing web, swings, and a tiny toddler area with toys. There’s even a spot for the four-legged family members–an all sand off-leash dog park with access to the water. There’s even a separate area for the little dogs.
With much of the park left undeveloped for wildlife, keep your eyes peeled for 135 species of birds, 50 species of waterfowl, raccoons, beaver, muskrats, tree frogs, and rabbits.
Note to Self
- There are two parking lots--the North Lot is closer to the large playground.
- Your dog will get dirty here so bring an extra towel.
- There is a clean sandy beach with picnic tables, barbecue area, and restrooms (open during the summer).
- Lifeguards are on duty throughout the summer.
- Bathroom facilities are clean. The park feels safe and clean.
- Caution: there are crows lurking for food.
